The new integrated care landscape ushers in changes for most healthcare professionals, but the impact for pharmacy is particularly marked. ISC/ICB Chief Pharmacists are now looking after medicines across primary and secondary care and working with community pharmacy and in care settings.

Pharmacy teams are also taking on more specialised commissioning responsibilities, implementing pharmacy first, having to handle shortages and supply chain problems, taking a lead on digitisation and e-prescribing, and addressing prescribing and population health management in the context of reducing health inequalities.

The HSJ Medicines Forum will bring together senior leaders responsible for establishing the new medicines and prescribing operating framework across the ICS. Through interactive panel discussions and roundtables, this event will facilitate an exchange of strategy and approach – and examine the opportunities to optimise value and patient outcomes in this new environment
