Translating National Reform into Local Delivery Across Systems

2026 is a defining year for medicines across the NHS. As the 10-Year Health Plan moves from policy into delivery, systems are under increasing pressure to improve performance, control costs and deliver better outcomes, with medicines at the centre of this transformation. The HSJ Medicines Forum returns on 13 October 2026 at Hilton London Tower Bridge, bringing together the national and system leaders responsible for translating reform into real-world impact. This is a highly focused, senior-level forum designed to move beyond strategy and into implementation - exploring how medicines can drive productivity, support financial sustainability and enable new models of care. Across a one-day, interactive programme, the forum will tackle the most pressing system challenges, including:

  • Translating national reform into consistent local delivery across ICBs and providers
  • Improving access to medicines through strategic commissioning, policy and system alignment
  • Delivering value from high-cost and innovative therapies, including oncology and advanced treatments
  • Embedding medicines within neighbourhood care models to support prevention and reduce demand
  • Overcoming barriers to adoption and closing the gap between approval and implementation
  • Using data, digital and real-world evidence to optimise prescribing and system performance
